The Great Sandwich Detective

So I've been working hard on The Great Sandwich Detective #0. I went a different route with the art that's turning out awesome. It's the first time I really went detailed with pencils and shading and blending, so it's exciting to be trying something new. Anywho, here's one of the pages I've been working on. I still have to add in the backgrounds and also plug it into Photoshop to position and add the speech bubbles and what-have-you. But here it is. I am trying feverishly to get Issue #0 done before the University Park convention. It's gonna be a 10-15 page special so I'm confident I'll have it done by then.

And here is my lovely new drafting table. It sure beats worrying about spilling ink all over my kitchen table and having a sore neck from looking down the whole time. To your right, you'll see my extensive collection of Mighty Muggs (they're just so damn cute!). You'll also see my autographed Troma Studios poster signed by the man, Lloyd Kaufman himself. And you'll also see a Black Metal print given to me by some guy with a beard. I think his name was...Chuck?

So that's it for now. I should have some more pages up shortly. Hope to see you all at the cons!

Dave

P.S. Thank you to Stacey for the pictures. :)

A Thousand Pardons!

I know it's been forever since my last update and I apologize. I'm currently writing this in my kitchen while drinking some tea and waiting for this cold medicine to kick in. I'd totally upload some sketches or doodles but to be honest, I just don't feel like getting up and doing so. Anywho.

I've been invited to be a guest at the University Park March Madness Comic-Con at the University Park Library in University Park, IL. It takes place on March 7th (10am-5pm) and March 8th (1pm-5pm). I urge you all to come out and support this convention as they are a very gracious organization. There will be a mess of great guests including the always wonderful David Gruba. So come on out you rat bastards.

I'll be debuting some stuff from my upcoming graphic novel, Doodle. I've been working on that more and more as of late. I finally got a drafting table so when I put that together, I'm sure it will motivate me even more to get cracking on it. I'm also working on an illustrated storybook with the ever-so-talented Anthony Cox. I'm really looking forward to that. I will have those on sale at the University Park con. I'll also be doing sketches and all that good crap.

As for other conventions, Aaron and I may do the Motor City Con in Michigan in May. Also, Aaron, Drew and I should definitely be at Wizard Chicago in the summer. But so far those are our only convention plans.

Anyways, I promise I'll have new art up soon. Peace.
